The Brain and Spirituality

From Ilchi Lee’s book BEST 5 Handbook

Look at your brain as an instrument that can connect to the spiritual plane. You could think of it as a radio antenna that can be “tuned” to receive spiritual messages and guidance. These spiritual messages are already within you and ready to access. How do you “tune in”? You can start by “tuning out” the static in your brain. The “static” is the information that gets in the way of your connection with your True Self, which is already in touch with the highest spiritual principles. This “bad” information includes any information that leads you to place limits on yourself or on others. Essentially, spiritual static is the by-product of the ego, which is often bogged down in emotion and negative thinking. Unfortunately, our culture creates all sorts of spiritual static by feeding the desires of the ego, telling it that it needs more stuff and more status to be loved. So, if you can train your brain to move beyond these petty desires and limiting preconceptions, you will open your brain to the spiritual messages it is already designed to receive.
